Canada Summer Jobs Temporary Contract, June 22, 2026 – Aug 21, 2026 (9 weeks)
30 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM
$17.81 per hour + mileage when delivering Meals on Wheels

The Role: This summer student position provides support and direct client service to seniors and individuals with diverse abilities through the agency’s Meals on Wheels program. The student assists with preparing packaging materials, organizing delivery routes, coordinating meal distribution, and delivering meals directly to clients.

Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team with the kitchen staff, Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers to assemble, organize and pack hot meals, ensuring all necessary items are included
- Clean and put away Meals on Wheels carrier bags as they return to the office from deliveries
- Prepare meal bags for next day
- Assist Manager, Meal Services with daily tasks in organizing meal delivery
- Data entry as assigned by Manager
- Deliver Meals on Wheels
Requested Skills/Qualifications
- This job is funded through Canada Summer Jobs 2026, and to be eligible applicants must:
- be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of employment
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and
- be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant Ontario legislation and regulations, including having a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment
- Successful candidate must be available to work for the entire 9-week contract
- Valid G or G2 Driver’s License, and daily access to a safe, licensed and reliable vehicle to deliver meals
- Satisfactory police records check for the vulnerable sector
- Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience with older adults, volunteers and/or persons with diverse abilities is an asset
- Ability to communicate in a language other than English an asset
